 The
third annual Beaver Island Rural Health Center Truck Raffle will
kick off Memorial Day Weekend. This year's vehicle is the classiest
ever: a red 2004 Chevy S-10 pickup with crew cab, equipped with
4 wheel drive, V6 engine, automatic transmission, keyless entry,
power windows, AM/FM stereo with CD player, double-wall box with
bedliner, and many other features.
Tickets will once again be $100 each, available at the Health
Center, McDonough's Market, and from any BIRHC board member. For
the first time tickets will also be on sale at both terminals
of Island Airways. A maximum of 500 will be sold. The drawing
will be held at the Shamrock on Labor Day. As in previous years,
the proceeds from the raffle will support on-going operations
at the Health Center.
