Beaver Island Community School is participating in a Facebook Contest called Wrap the Bus! The company sponsoring the contest, Charlevoix County Proud, is offering to make a custom bus wrap featuring whatever photos we choose that will be featured for a period of one year on a Charlevoix County Transit Bus. This will be a GREAT promotional thing for Beaver Island as a whole!
Teams earn points in several different ways. If you are interested and willing to participate, please visit the CHARLEVOIX COUNTY PROUD Facebook page. You make "like" the page and sign up to receive updates (we can earn points for our teams that way too!). Please vote for Beave Island Soccer! You can also vote for both the Beaver Island Soccer Team AND The Beaver Island Volunteer Fire Department. They are in different categories and are not competing against each other, so PLEASE, vote for both. If you've signed up to receive notices you'll be seeing any time now that there will be another SPEED WHEEL and a PHOTO HUNT GAME coming soon! 
Deb got the school 300 points by winning a little mini contest, yea Deb, but the rest of the 325 we've gained in a couple days over the next closest group is our manic voting. This is fun. I have no idea why I got so invested in this, but a bunch of us are, and it would be a neat thing to see Beaver Island plastered all over those buses. Another week and couple days of voting, every two hours during waking hours. Voting for the fire station too.

Ok guys, here's what has happened. There are a number of groups competing in three divisions, police, school groups, and fire departments. Each division will have a winner. As of this morning, Beaver Island Soccer and another school group (Concord) were close in the school division, each with over 16000 votes, with us having a slight lead. To show you what an accomplishment this was, the next highest number of votes for a team in any division was only in the 8,000s.
Then came today's photo contest. Vouchers worth 300 votes each were hidden in Charlevoix County and photos posted on facebook of the hiding places. All photos today were of places on the mainland, and our closest competitor nabbed all of them. This put them ahead by almost 1500 votes.
The contest ends March 23. Nobody is whining about today. The game is what is. We can still win this if everybody who wants this prize for the school and the kids and the island gets into facebook and votes. You can vote every two hours, and it is easy. Type "Charlevoix County Proud facebook" into your search engine. When you get to the Facebook page, click like. Then find the icon that says "vote here" and tap it. Scroll down through the police entries, which show up first, to the school categories and look for the green and white shield that says Beaver Island Soccer. Click "vote." Repeat every two hours when possible until March 23.
