Beaver Island Transportation Authority is located on Beaver Island, an Island in Lake Michigan. The Authority provides ferry transit service between the Island and the mainland at Charlevoix, Michigan via its ferryboat, the Emerald Isle.

POSITION TITLE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
SALARY RANGE $48,000-$60,000 Depending on qualifications and experience, competitive benefit package.

DUTIES Acts as a liaison for the Authority with its Private sector operations provider; Direct, plan, organize and coordinate all activities of the Authority, including but not limited to: preparing balanced annual budget; Apply for annual State and Federal funding, Administer capital grants; Provide oversight of operations by the Private Operator; Monitor capital items owned by the Authority and used by the Private Operator; Represent the Authority in various Local, State and Federal Intergovernmental activities and meetings; Public speaking; Legal and Regulatory compliance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelorâ??s Degree with 3 years senior management or Supervisory experience, preferably in public transportation or ferryboat operations; or as equivalent - 7 years of experience at a Supervisory level in a transportation services field.
LICENSES REQUIRED Must hold a valid Michigan Driverâ??s license
