Rainy Day Entertainment

Post by WVBI »

It may be raining outside, but there is plenty to enjoy on your community radio station rain or shine.

This morning at 8:00 tune in for Interfaith Voices with Maureen Fiedler. This week a fresh look at Jesus of Nazareth. How would he view himself in the context of today? And, the secret history of the spirit world.

From 9:00 to 1:00 relax with the Sunday Morning Cottage Mix. It's light jazz, jazzy pop and a little of blues and soul all blended into a perfect soundtrack for your Beaver Island Sunday. From 1:00 to 3:00 get your classic on with DW's Festival Concert. Then, it's our classic Cottage Mix until 5:00 when Phil Becker is in with his stacks of wax that matter on the platter on the Sunday Night Oldies show. He's followed at 7:00 by Celtic Connections. At 8:00 there is great American folk music played bu artists from afar on The International Americana Music Show, and at 9:00 Tom "Hacksaw" Coulson is on with Full Moon Hacksaw with great jazz, blues and more. At 11:00, the Jazz Nightwatch is there to take you through to dawn.

Don't forget Drinking Habits 2 on stage in the Ray & Ann Stanhope Theater at the BIC Center this evening at 8:00. And, Warblers on the Water birding events are going on all day including several presentations at the BIC Center. You can keep track of all of the birding events at http://wvbi.biccenter.org/warblers-water-2017. And you can keep track of everything happening on the island with the WVBI Community Calendar. It's broadcast weekdays at 9, noon, 3:00 and 6:00, and it is all online, too, at http://calendar.wvbi.net.

Want to know when the rain will end? Check out current weather conditions at our BIC Center studios and have a look at the ferry dock and other webcams on the the island under the WX menu at www.wvbi.net.

Listen on the island at 100.1 FM and worldwide at www.wvbi.net.
