Cormorant control
Members of the Beaver Island Wildlife Club may be involved in the harassment of Double Crested Cormorants in the harbor and on Lake G. The US Fish and Wildlife Agency has stated this is an approved procedure to prevent the birds from depleting the fish stocks in those area. The members will be using what is called a "Bird Banger" which is a loud firecracker device. The Deputy Sheriff was notified of this activity.
