Beekeeping on BI

So I was wondering if anyone might be interested in beekeeping on the island? I've been thinking about it for a couple of years now and wondered if there are other like minded folks.
If so, maybe we can plan a gathering and chat about it.

I thought there was someone on the island whom did bee's. it maybe hard to keep the supers warm in the winter, may have to build a heated shed

i have thought about it many times. Do it Best is even carrying supplies for beekeepers now. recently found that out looking through the catalog.

Dianne Tracy, I think is her name. I remember her teaching this program down at CMU several summers ago. She is now driving the COA bus/car. She might be able to give some info about this, and her experience doing this on the island.

I would be interested in doing beekeeping, I too have also heard that Dianne does beekeeping here on the island.

Jacques, did you get hold of Dyanne? She USED to keep bees but not now, will no doubt share her experience.

I have had several responses and calls. So if you all can meet at the library Sat. Feb. 11 at 3p.m., we'll see what we all have/plan/want and go from there.
