Making Your Weekend Interesting & Bright

Post by WVBI »

It looks like the weather will be dreary at best this weekend, but your island radio station has plenty both to make it interesting and to brighten it up. Saturday and Sunday mornings tune in early to hear Worldlink (at 6:00) and Inside Europe (at 7:00) for a look at global reaction to the change of guard in DC. Saturday morning at 8:00 Living Planet takes a look at climate change policy in a new environment in DC and Davos. Sunday morning at 8:00 Interfaith Voices takes a look at scaling back the self-righteousness that seems to have divided the country.

Saturday morning at 10:00, the Top Ten + Five takes to the air with a first ever Who Did It First edition. After the countdown, enjoy the cottage mix until you head to the BIC Center at 3:00 to see Brother Can You Spare a Dime, a special movie presentation followed by a community discussion. Then, listen at 5:00 when Sheri Timsak steps into the studio for another live presentation of Country Classics. She be followed at 7:00 by Titus Jennings and the Retro Album Chart Show with a look at the charts for this week in 1970 and 1990. Mark Beltaire is in next with Rockin' the Boat at 9:00.

Sunday morning at 9:00, relax with the special Sunday Morning Cottage Mix -- a blend of easy jazz and pop that's a perfect soundtrack for chilling out. At 1:00, put your classical on with Collector's Corner followed at 3:00 by our classic Cottage Mix. Island Oldies Man Phil Becker is in at 5:00 with his stacks of wax that make up Sunday Night Oldies. He's followed at 7:00 by Celtic Connections and at 9:00 by The International Americana Music Show.

It's at the BIC Center and on WVBI at 100.1 FM on the island and worldwide at www.wvbi.net. We are the Voice of Beaver Island.
