Lawrence's 100th Birthday

Post by Pam Grassmick »

Words of wisdom from Lawrence: "100 years of life on the island was a long time in the making". He offered to share his secret of longevity at his 100th birthday party but his disclaimer is, "It may not work for everyone." Lawrence and his family hope to see you there!

Does anyone know if Lawrence will appear on the Today show's Smucker's Jar for centarians? If so, what time and day?

Smuckers

Post by Pam Grassmick »

We have submitted a request with all the information to Willard Scott's Centenarian Smucker's Birthday tribute months ago. They will not announce whether he will be awarded the spot. We'll let you know-if we hear anything.

Thanks.

Kitty Gallagher was born on Arranmore in 1802. She came to the Island in 1866 and died here in 1905 at the age of 103. She was the mother of Big Owen, Big Neil and Big Dominic.

Lawrence's cousin. Allie McDonough died in 2010 just before his 106th birthday. Although Allie had not lived on the Island in many years, he was born here.

That's all I can think of off hand.
