Beaver Island Ice Classic

The tower is on the ice thanks to this years launch team of Bob Banville, Jon Fogg, and Jimmy Wojan. We'll have the tickets at McDonough's and the Community Center by this weekend. With all the cold weather this should be an interesting year.

The winner gets 1/2 of the total with the rest going to support the operation of the Beaver Island Community Center.

Time is running out, the last day of ticket sales will be March 20th.

Lots of ice so it will be interesting to see when it finally goes in.

The Coast Guard ice breaker was about 1/4 mile to the west when it made its pass thru the harbor. The ice is melting next to the barge and there is open water from the bubblers to the east but there is lots of ice left.

Any possibility of side bet action as to which pays out first, Ice Classic or poaching reward? Both should be good sized pots. It's been a long winter!

Just like the Energizer Bunny---still going. The ice is melting along the shoreline and the west end of the ice pack but I would estimate the tower is still setting on a foot of ice.
